The historic market town of Oundle in Northampton has been a settlement for several thousand years, and it is the latest technology that brings this history to life.
Love Oundle
The Love Oundle Walking Tour app is designed to give an interactive experience around Oundle. The GPS-triggered heritage app allows you to be guided by a local expert to points of interest around the town and surrounding area to learn about its significance.
Audio commentaries are automatically triggered once you are within viewing distance of a point of interest. Those places that you have visited are then ticked on the list of audio files. A suggested route is shown on the map for each tour. However, you do not have to follow this route if you wish to choose your own order, or just learn about some of the points of interest from the comfort of your own home by manually playing the audio files.
Many thanks for all your help in getting our LoveOundle Walking tours off the ground. Though we have had a few issues along the way, your flexible supportive approach has been excellent, especially as we have had to relearn some of the CMS system due to us taking some time in-between sessions. The CMS is easy to use and once you know the basics popping up a different tour is pretty quick. So we look forwards to adding to our capability as we persuade more people to get involved and create new tours for our town.
