Time Traveller’s Theatre Trail

In response to Covid-19, the 200 seat East Riding Theatre in Beverley, East Yorkshire successfully applied for Arts Council England (ACE) funding for an audio walk through Beverley. The app showcases all the different performance spaces through time, and Beverley’s connection with the arts and the wider cultural scene throughout history.

The Time Traveller’s Theatre Trail app is a fun and immersive drama stopping off at 12 historic sites in the market town of Beverley. The app takes visitors on an expedition through time with actors Annie, Richard, Evie, Gordon and a host of historical figures, from Henry V to artist icon Mary Elwell.

“This is our first foray, as a small regional producing house theatre, in creating an audio walk. We found your app you designed for the Don Valley Way and was very impressed with how user friendly it is including the level of design. We were immensely impressed by the whole audiotrails website and soon began a dialogue with Dan on how to achieve and realise our artistic aims for the project. The trail has taken around 6 months to produce, mainly a sustained period whilst we waited for funding – throughout all of this time, Dan has stayed loyal to the project, offering support and advice in a timely and effective manner. Technical specific areas were explained with good detail and has allowed for a smooth engagement period, whilst the content was being realised, created and added to the app. We’re really proud of the trail and its ease of use – which is ultimately down to the terrific services we’ve received from Dan and AudioTrails. We would wholeheartedly recommend AudioTrails and look forward to a continued relationship between the company and the East Riding Theatre”
